Support Georgia, why?

Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 07:03:19 PM PDT

We have to support Georgia. I must admit I have had and continue to have questions of Georgia's ie Pres Saakashvili commitment to freedom of the press. But I'm am more pissed off that Bush  in this case was no different from his weak ass father Bush 1 cut and run from the Kurds in Iraq during Iraq 1. I think pretty sure this is a family trait.

With friends like Bush who needs ...

Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 09:56:23 PM PDT

allies. Now before I go on. Let me be clear I'm not pushing for the US to go to war with Russia. This is a very tricky position for the US. An ally vs another superpower. It is very curious to watch how timid the US response to Russia's invasion of a sovereign country, an ally nonetheless who even sent troops to support Bush war of lies in Iraq. Now when in need Bush will and Condi are able to do is weak worded words of insignificance pretty saying to Russia continue what your doing while we talk... everyone know once Russia set up shop in Georgia it's all over... just like Bush's complicit response to coup in Venezuela.

China revokes Olympian's VISA.... to Olympics

Wed Aug 06, 2008 at 12:58:23 PM PDT

My first response to this headline was 'what the f@#k!'. Initially I had the impression that this guy was supposed to be competing. He however is a speedskater who has organized effects to expose the atrocities in Darfur. I really think the Chinese need a lesson in public relations... when they do sh#t like this it puts a bigger spotlight on the Civil rights/Human rights atrocities that they so desperately want to coverup, which will be amplified because they now have a huge spotlight called the Olympics being shun on them. For all the chinese's history of spin and message control this is another dumbass move. They haven't figured out the more they coverup stuff ie block/restrict internet access. The more sensationalized these issues get.

For Obama, The Latest News Is Not Good

Sun Aug 03, 2008 at 10:37:17 AM PDT

Is it time for Sen Obama to remove his gloves. To date Sen Obama has managed to respond to McCain lies and innuendo with diplomatic responses conferring all the respect and deference to McCain... But as Sen Obama has openly acknowledged even when McCain does not confer the same respect to him.

Now if this isn't a sign of terror I don't know what is

Sun Jul 20, 2008 at 05:09:25 PM PDT

Dobson is 'threatening' to reverse himself and endorse Sen McCain. Sounds like a plus for McSame or is it? It's a plus he need every vote he can get, even the votes of bigots. My take is that if Dobson who has been so critical of McSame is so terrified of a Dem winning the presidency that he is willing to sleep with the devil. His rationale, the devil is a relic of the Old Testement and and we all know the New Testement is the way to go.

They are calling this the lesser of two evils, but I could have sworn I had the impression from Dobson that he thought McSame was the anti-christ. But as is the case for many of these Christian leaders the bible is just a evolving document only subject to their personal interpretations... Interesting how that works.

I wonder when was the last time any of them had been to a homeless shelter,,,,IF at all?

Sen Obama Vindicated on Iraq

Tue Jul 08, 2008 at 09:35:24 PM PDT

Now that Iraq's PM is demanding a US pull out time table it would be interesting to see how Sen McCain and the Bushes spin this after years of saying If Iraq wanted us to leave we will leave... intriguing. Since PM Nuri al-Maliki is now calling what appears to be Bushes, the repugs and McSame's bluff.  Sit back and enjoy peeps...

McCain, Obama at odds over Iraqi withdrawal demand

http://afp.google.com/...

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Iraq's hardening demand for a pullout deadline for US troops on Tuesday sent shockwaves through the White House campaign, putting Republican hopeful John McCain on the defensive.
McCain, who says it is too early to leave Iraq, said US pull-backs must be dictated by security conditions, after Democrat Barack Obama said the Iraqi government now shared his desire for a timetable for withdrawals.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said on Monday that Iraq was seeking such an arrangement in talks with Washington on the future US force structure in the country.

Flip flopper in Chief ...

Fri Jul 04, 2008 at 01:39:11 PM PDT

Sen Obama needs to start defining Sen McCain as a flip flopper before he misses the opportunity. Sen Obama has millions of Sen Mccain flip flops to point out. I see something developing McCain will try to pin the label on Sen Obama and the media (as dump as they are/ or more like willing to do anything to perpetuate a sound bite) is more than willing to go along with McCain's version as ironic as it may sound. But that is the media for you. I just saw a CNN segment with the subtitle "Sen Obama flip flopper??" Sen Obama should not get complacent that this will not stick especially with the press pushing it.

Sen Obama needs to use the words flip flop to describe McCain and not just his surrogates. I have already seen Sen McCain using the term to define Sen Obama, already testing the waters. Sen Obama should not take the chance of being labeled with this as Sen Kerry was. It a description whether true or false that tends to stick.

Several pundits have also wondered why Sen Obama is not painting Sen McCain who has changed his positions so many times as a flip flopper. Sen Obama needs to remember with Repugs its not about the truth its about perception and the repugs have a willing press to use as their Megaphone. We all know how powerful that can be...

The Video The Jewish lobby Didn't Want You To See

Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 02:24:33 AM PDT

I stumbled upon this U tube video on the implications of the US blind support for Israel and how it goes against US foreign national interests. It's a 50 min piece but worth the watch. I think a lot of us here already know this, but at least what was striking to me is the connection between AIPAC and the neocons in the Bush admin and bushes decision to invade Iraq all with serious implications. This is an example of how blind and costly in the form US blood. I'm not arguing that AIPAC was the only reason Bush invaded Iraq that would not be true, but the Israel lobby had been very influential push into this debacle. More recently you can hear the voices again of the Israel lobby pushing for military action in Iran. The question is when will the US citizenry wake up.

Judges Cite Need for Reliable Evidence To Hold Detainees

Tue Jul 01, 2008 at 06:01:19 AM PDT

Another Bush rebuke... interesting how this plays out. I've not seen this diaried, if it has been this if for those who like myself missed it.

It would be interesting to see McCain's response. Wow a second court that is saying to the Bushes show us the money in court or shut up. In McCain's and bushes case all the courts including the Supreme Court will have it wrong, interesting how that works.

Who's going to be the first to call ...

Fri Jun 27, 2008 at 02:23:08 PM PDT

Sen McCain a liar. I could not believe what I was hearing looking at that Daily kos main page diary by Susan G showing video of McCain suggesting that he was in support of the GI Bill all along.

If this goes unchallenged it would be another example of the weakness/ timidity of Dems and why we wonder repugs have been so successful in the past. Dems need to call a spade a spade and a liar a LIAR. No mincing of words. McCain is liaring no not flip-flopping although there are scores of flip-flops on record. Enough with the tip toeing. The ads and Dem surrogates need to come out in force, this guy would be the next LIAR and Flip Flopper in Chief.

Keep up the pressure Sen Obama...

Wed Jun 25, 2008 at 04:30:54 AM PDT

This is my follow to my prior diary highlighting the stupidity of McCain and his staff comtemplating out loud that Sen McCain will benefit from a terrorist attack politically. Whether or not this is true it gives us insight how morally deprived these repugs are to to think in terms of their gains at the expense of more US lives as if 9/11 and Iraq were no enough. I had pointed out Sen Obama needed to jump all over this and it looks lie he is starting too. Nice.

McCain advisor says a terror attack...

Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 12:51:28 AM PDT

will help McCain. How stupid can you get to say that out loud...McCain is trying to distance himself from the remarks but Sen Obama needs to call him on it... Sen Obama should go on the offense with this one. It sounds like they are asking the terrorists to attack US citizens so McCain can obtain some political gain. How low will they go? Don't answer that...

race to stoke fear.

No surprise here. But the fact the Sen Obama would highlight this is a telling sign of him trying to go on the offensive on this issue. Sen Obama has not made race a part of his campaign. This would only be the second time he has bought it up... the first that I can recall was in response to Rev Wright.

Tip and Recommend every FISA diary

Thu Jun 19, 2008 at 02:58:22 PM PDT

This is my contribution for the day.  Not much of a diary. Read the header. Pissed is putting it mildly. Why are Dems so f@#@king weak? Hint hint Rep. Hoyer. I hope Hoyer and Pelosi  get challenged next year for their spots (I can't even use the word leadership to describe their jobs).

I say let them vote for McCain

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 01:06:17 AM PDT

There is a new coalition Sen Obama will have to form. He may not be able to convince all, but he will definitely convince most of Sen Clinton's supporters to support his agenda. The rest really aren't in my opinion supportive of Sen Clinton's agenda because there is many similarities between her and Sen Obama's agendas.

We need not waste our energies on irrational thought. Some will come around some won't. They were not Dems to begin with, nor did they care why Sen Clinton was running for president, they only say they were Dems to bolster their lashing out (at the Obama campaign), as they are trying to be spiteful because their candidate loss.

What they are saying they will do (vote for McCain) is counter to the Dem agenda, and to Sen Clinton's agenda. The problem with that is these Clinton supporters will spite only their faces not the Dem agenda when they cut off their noses. The Dem agenda this year is strong. If we have to work harder to see it through, that is what we'll have to do.

I will be supporting Sen Obama's agenda.

Sen Obama ... Don't do it!

Mon May 26, 2008 at 04:32:43 PM PDT

Don't choose Sen Clinton as your running mate. Speaking as someone who used to support Sen Clinton's bid for the US presidency and no longer do. For one thing there is no chemistry there with Clinton... Sen Clinton and her campaign has called Sen Obama everything under the sun from incompetent to you know what. The press will have a field day with Sen Clinton trying to explain away the hypocrisy of a Obama/Clinton ticket. Not to mention what repugs have planned for her as being part of any presidential ticket ticket. She will be a drag on the message of change.

Sen Obama should choose someone who shares his beliefs and goals. Someone he he truly personally and politically compatible with. Personally I think Sen McCaskill is someone worth seriously looking at.

I just don't see any chemistry with Sen Clinton-zero. Yes I agree there are many policy similarities but that's were it ends. They will govern in very different manners.

Resist the conventional wisdom Sen Obama, it is almost always wrong.

Obama's 7 Steps to Beating McCain

Mon May 12, 2008 at 12:37:37 PM PDT

At least that's the headline I would like to read in the near future. This article talks about MCain's 7 step plan against Obama. I know of Sen Obama's 50 state strategy. I thinks that's great.

One thing that I noted in this article is McCain's supposed plan to 'press the flesh" and meet voters in smaller settings and 2) his relation with the press. We saw how Bush used the press to his advantage, giving them 'access' during his campaign. Sen Obama needs to develop his own similar plan. I know that Sen Obama's campaign became aware of the senator's need to meet and voters while in Indiana when they shifted a little bit away from the large crowd rally's and added more smaller venue stops.
